HONG KONG — With an ethos defined by openness and time-honored integrity, Shanghai Watch made a striking statement at the 45th Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair (Booth 3F-C03). Anchored by the brand proposition “Rivers Converge in the Sea; Time is Our Promise,” the showcase bridges 71 years of continuous innovation—from the city’s first fine-mechanical watch in 1955 to today’s international stage—presenting the diverse facets of Eastern watchmaking to the world.

A Theme of Heritage and Global Dialogue

The exhibition centered on the theme “Rivers Converge in the Sea; Time is Our Promise.” This philosophy highlights Shanghai’s inclusive spirit alongside the brand's unwavering commitment to its original craftsmanship. By merging modern horology with Eastern aesthetics, Shanghai Watch offered global audiences a profound narrative of “Eastern Time.”

Three Major New Releases

The showcase was highlighted by three headline product lines, blending original square design, nostalgic heritage, and bespoke artistic collaboration:

  • Tribute to Square (Global Debut): Inspired by the century-old former Municipal Government Building on the historic Bund, this timepiece introduces an original square case available in four distinct colorways. Each variant evokes a specific historical resonance, capturing the architectural heritage of stone-clad walls and century-old bricks.

  • A623 Classic Re-edition: A faithful tribute to Shanghai Watch's very first date-display timepiece, which famously accompanied national leaders on historic diplomatic visits. Featuring a 36mm stainless steel case, a beige spark-textured dial, a signature red date window, and a vintage bubble crystal, this model honors a true dialogue with history.

  • Hand-Painted Limited Collection: A unique cross-cultural collaboration featuring British artist Matt Anderson, based in Shanghai. Hand-painted directly onto the "Tribute to General" and "Tribute to Visionary" models across four thematic colorways—including Xuanwu/Cangyin, Shanghai-Hong Kong Brilliance, and Neon Night—each watch stands as a one-of-a-kind art piece.

A City’s Openness on the Wrist

From the debut of the square architectural case to the revival of a diplomatic classic and unique artist collaborations, Shanghai Watch transcends pure horology. Encapsulating "one timepiece, a city’s breadth," the collection serves as an enduring token of Shanghai's open spirit. Carrying forward a 71-year legacy of passion, Shanghai Watch continues to converse with the world through the language of time.
